Jon Abeyta has worked to help create and brand images for celebrities such as Alyssa Milano, Fabio, Ray Parker Jr., Bob Seger, Lisa Rinna, Cindy Margolis, Cornelia Guest, and many more!
Jon hails from New Mexico where he obtained his Cosmetology and Hairdresser License and moved to Texas to start his career! He began work for a Modeling agency, whom he opened a salon for. Jon had a brief stint as a Photographer's Assistant styling hair and makeup, Jon’s talent soon led him to Hollywood. By the Mid 1980’s opened his Photography Studio in Los Angeles.
Jon Abeyta has been photographing people for more than four decades. Many of Jon’s photos were used in Landmark Calendars (like Breathless Men, Cowgirls with horses, etc.). Top selling posters and calendars of celebrities like Cindy Margolis and Fabio landed Jon the nickname of “Calendar King.” Jon’s adorable Vintage child photographs also graced greeting cards and posters globally.
Jon Abeyta has done commercial photography for Coca-Cola, Toyota and Yokahama Tire. Jon has also photographed ads for the shoe company Chinese Laundry, fashion label Maui & Sons, and for Starmaker Posters.
Jon’s work has also been featured in Elle Magazine, Fit Magazine, Muscle & Fitness and more. Abeyta’s “Romance” Black and White lithograph -poster series was featured in the Barcelona Olympics and attained global popularity.
Jon remains a prominent glamour, fashion and poster photographer who shoots iconic swimsuit photography. Jon’s style was honed during the decades he worked in Hollywood creating looks for the LA/Oakland Raiderettes during the peal era of their annual swimsuit calendars (1980’s, 1990’s & 2000’s). Abeyta’s 2000 Raiderettes Calendar is a collector’s item.
